So I'm cleaning my room and something I'd been privately thinking about to myself has been hitting me hard lately. My friends and my enemies all at once, cables! Various cables from connecting devices to my computer (or other things) or power/charger cables, there's a flippin' ton of 'em.

So! What do you folks do about your various cables? Especially with the more commonly used ones? I have a sole USB cable sticking out the back of my laptop which snakes around and I'm okay with that but I still have a heap of other cables.

Even if you don't have the problem I do, can anyone suggest anything? Maybe I'll make a list~

And because I'm such a tool...

So it'd seem like NO ONE understands probability anymore.

The results for the 50.8% crit will come out like: 39% 34% 41% 9% 40% 12% 50% 5% 31% 39%

The results for the 32.8% would be like: 31.1% 27.3% 21.2% 32% 32.3% 29.7% 29.1% 31.9% 28.1% 31.6%

What this means is that 30% is true only in the great long term. But since, the band of the 32.8 is much more constricted it will actually get to a 30% point much faster then it's great variance 50.8% crit counterpart. That is to say there is more room for higher (or lower) possibilities above or below the 30% marker with the 50.8% crit scenario over a greater period of crits above the period of crits for the 32.8% crit scenario.

The relevant point is in bold. Anyway who understands anything about probability should be able to figure out why this guy is a moron just from that.

There was a lot of other shit I had to deal with today but that takes the cake. This was pretty bad as well. Not pictured me is pointing out that there is an easily found and rather comprehensive wiki for this kind of thing.

I've been getting a lot of random adds on Facebook, presumably by people from MMM or something. There lies a slight problem in that though as especially in the later years, I didn't really know anyone from MMM and lots of people thought they were friends with me ("Hey! We talked that one time! Remember?"). This is further complicated by the fact that I knew most of the people whose names I could barely remember only by board name, screen name or character names and not by their real name. I would like it if said people would realise this before adding me on facebook and do something about it so I know WHO THE FUCK THEY ARE.

Who here's used Hamachi? For the uninitiated it's a handy VPN program but the way it works means that sometimes you can get odd errors.

Something of an Upheaval

So, as some of you may know I will be going on a trip next year which begins late March or so. The plan is to visit Korea, the USA and then Australia before returning home. The stay in Korea will be three weeks (exactly) whilst I was thinking of staying a couple of weeks in the states and Aussie.

Well, that was the original plan anyway. Upon talking to my parents and my family in America, I may actually stay in the states for a whopping three months. I'll likely be based in Washington (Lynden to be exact... I think) though I'll be in California for a while and possibly even go visit other states.

So! All you Americans out there, if you have any advice, recommendations or anything like that, it'd be much appreciated!

Colour of Mythril Continued

So I replied to the brats who were trying to tell me that mythril is blue-ish "JRR Tolkien rolls in his grave". One of them replied with an absolute gem.

Go read his books and see the movie then to prove my point.

I don't know about you guys but when the books say things about mythril's apperance like "Silvered steel" (silver steel as I've said before is oddly enough, silver in appearance), "shone like moonlit silver" (white light + silver = ???) and "beauty is that of common silver" (I don't see it getting clearer than that) then I don't see any hint of blue as coming into the equation.

For what it's worth, Mabinogi (the game which started all this drama) changes the colour of mythril ore to this. I'm appeased.
